MESSAGE FROM THE CEO

January 2019

Welcome to 2019! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and spent much needed time with family. The start of the year is always a time of reflection for many of us including me. I always like to look back on my own personal achievements and those at Airmaster.

2018 was a very successful year with many achievements to note. We are well on the way to reaching our highest maintenance contracts value in the company’s history. We have also maintained a hold of key sectors including retail, and developed growth in the education and airport infrastructure spaces.

Some of these wins have brought about their own challenges. However, the hard work put in by everyone in managing these contracts, and the positive feedback from these clients has shown we are up to the task and continue to deliver and exceed on what is required.

Regarding sales, we are well on track to exceed our budget. This is despite the challenging environment where we are seeing some of our competitors offer discounting and pricing not seen since the nineties. This growth has also increased our human resources, where we now employ more than 800 staff nationally.

Something that I’m incredibly proud of is the Reconciliation Action Plan we have put together. The increasing importance of working with our indigenous communities was evident when putting together a 12-point plan for how Airmaster can help create to an equitable, just and inclusive society. The ceremonies rolled out across our branches were very moving and highly educational.

Towards the end of the year we launched Optimum Air in New Zealand, our first foray outside of Australia. Having grown our operations across Australia, our expansion into the New Zealand market is a natural progression for us in terms of expansion. This is an exciting venture for Airmaster, and I have full faith in the team set to lead this expansion.

I would also like to note the growth of Airmaster Fire, having started with just four employees in July 2017 they have now grown to 22 staff. They have established a strong presence in Victoria and will begin to expand nationally with New South Wales and Queensland being the immediate targets.

2018 also saw Airmaster celebrate our 30th anniversary. It’s hard to believe we have been around for this amount of time. To mark this occasion, we held a special event in April as well as released a book celebrating the history of Airmaster. If you have not yet received your copy, check with your local branch or get in touch with our Marketing team.

Finally, one of the most critical elements of a successful business is the people. Without the hard work and perseverance of those at Airmaster, we wouldn’t be the company we are today, let alone have survived 30 years. Staff are the backbone of Airmaster and you have risen to the challenges 2018 gave us. I want to thank each and every one of you for the commitment you have shown. Thank you!
