We’re proud to share that Airmaster has been recognised as a 2024/25 CitySwitch Champion for our continued efforts to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency across our national operations.
CitySwitch, an initiative led by the City of Sydney and supported by councils across Australia, promotes best-practice environmental performance among commercial tenants. This recognition acknowledges the tangible steps we’ve taken within our own offices to support more sustainable outcomes.
Establishing Our Approach
In 2022, we established a Sustainability Working Group made up of team members from across the business. Our goal was to better understand our operational footprint - particularly energy and fleet usage - and take meaningful action to reduce it.

“Being recognised as a CitySwitch Champion is a great milestone,” said Jack Russell, Airmaster's Compliance and Governance Manager. “It demonstrates the positive outcomes that can be achieved through consistent effort, collaboration and practical action.”
With this foundation in place, we began working with branch managers, landlords and software partners to implement targeted energy-saving initiatives across more than 18 sites.
What We’ve Achieved
Each of our state offices has contributed to this recognition through tailored upgrades and improved practices. These include:
Installation of solar PV systems in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia - including at our Scoresby head office, which was recently completed
Replacement of older, less efficient HVAC systems with modern, energy-saving alternatives
Introduction of smarter control systems, such as motion-sensor lighting, revised temperature setpoints, and new A/C timers
Landlord-funded or co-funded energy projects negotiated as part of lease renewals

These efforts reflect our belief that energy performance must be embedded not only in the work we do for clients, but in how we run our own business.
How CitySwitch Helped
CitySwitch has played a key role in our progress. Their reporting structure helped shape our internal systems, while webinars and peer discussions provided valuable ideas and direction.
“A particularly impactful moment came through a CitySwitch webinar on emissions tracking, which led us to partner with dedicated software providers,” said Jack.
“Today, automated systems collect electricity and fleet data across more than 18 Airmaster sites, giving us a clear view of our Scope 1 and 2 emissions.”
Next Steps in Our Sustainability Journey
With strong foundations in place, we are now turning our attention to the next phase of our sustainability efforts. Our upcoming focus areas include:
Mapping our Scope 3 emissions
Improving waste and recycling practices across all sites
We thank CitySwitch and our local government partners for their ongoing support. This recognition reflects the work of teams right across the business and reinforces our commitment to delivering smarter, more sustainable operations.
