Airmaster opened its ACT branch in 2005, as part of the company’s nationwide management of Stockland sites including the Myuna Complex – the former Australian Federal Police headquarters in Canberra’s CBD (now the location of Civic Quarter).
This contract complimented others in the region and supported two full time technicians, Phil Grove and Jon Wheeler, who remain part of the Airmaster family to this day. Phil is currently Business Development Manager for Airmaster, while Jon is the Daikin Service Supervisor for the ACT region.
Based from Fyshwick, the ACT branch grew quickly in the early years, requiring a local management team to be put in place. As well as traditional HVAC service and maintenance, the branch delivered chiller replacements and BMS upgrades, including those at Lovett Tower for Cromwell, and 15 Bowes Street for Colonial (both national clients of Airmaster’s at the time).

In 2009, Airmaster’s ACT branch relocated to its current premises on Canberra Avenue.
“Airmaster has always had an ongoing commitment to employing apprentices and developing the most talented young staff members in the industry, and the ACT has been no different,” says Jason Quinn, current Branch Manager for ACT.
One example is Michael Nixon, who was crowned Apprentice of the Year and the World Skills ACT Champion in 2012 while working for Airmaster as an apprentice. Mick remains with Airmaster today as Project Manager.
With the company committed to bringing its award-winning solutions to the local market, Rob Huntington was appointed ACT Branch Manager in 2013. Relocating from the successful NSW branch, Rob delivered on the company’s vision of being the supplier of the choice in the ACT region. This led to the appointment of Jason Quinn as ACT Service Manager two years later.
Highly regarded by both technicians and clients in Canberra, Jason was instrumental in attracting and retaining key team members. Together, Rob and Jason built a winning culture and grew the branch from 7 staff in 2013 to almost 60, while driving revenue growth of more than 800%.
In July 2019, in recognition of his significant contribution to the growth and success of Airmaster in Canberra, Jason was appointed ACT Branch Manager – a role he continues in today.
Dedicated to innovation, performance and delivering tangible results for its clients, Airmaster offers the full suite of the company’s service, maintenance, installation and control solutions to the local ACT market. The branch also delivers innovative solutions locally including Building Services Networks (BSNs) and Data-Driven HVAC and BMS Maintenance (Intelligence Maintenance).
