International Women's Day: Natasha Disilvio

In conjunction with International Women's Day (IWD) held on March 8, 2021, Airmaster would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the talented women within our company. This year we have selected two women who have demonstrated the value of diversity and inclusion while working at Airmaster.

Our first feature this week is Natasha Disilvio, Projects and Controls Administrator, WA Branch.

What is your current role:

I am currently the Projects & Controls Administrator for our WA Branch

What does your role entail?

To assist the Projects and Controls departments in all administrative works, for example:

- Managing WIP for the departments

- Constructing project manuals

- Raising contracts jobs in our system

What skills are important to have in your sector?

I feel that you need to have very good organisational skills and be able to multi-task due to the varied workload for each department.

How have you found being a woman, working in your sector?

I think I have adapted very well to working in a male dominated industry, I have built strong relationships that I value highly. It can have its challenges, but everyone is equal in my eyes, I’d say it makes me work harder and become a stronger person.

What does the International Women’s Day slogan, #ChooseToChallenge mean for you in your work life?

I think this goes back to my above comment. Everyone is equal. We are in the year 2021, women in the workplace should not need to fight for their rights.

Based on your own experience, what advice would you give to women considering pursuing a career in your field?

From my experience working for Airmaster I would encourage all women to pursue a career in the Project/Control field. It is a rewarding area with a lot to learn and constant new challenges.
